TRIP TO UTTOXETER 2023 – A GREAT DAY OUT!

I am pleased to report that, despite the awful weather last Saturday, the day out at Uttoxeter Races went well!

170 of us headed out to Uttoxeter on a rainy morning and arrived at the course around 11.30 am. Those with tickets for the marquee set off across the course to set up their picnics. The marquee is situated right next to the finishing line and has a bar, tables and a facility to place your bet. On a sunny day you could also sit on the terrace – it did not get much use last week!

Despite the weather, spirits and hopes were high as bets were placed. There were 8 races in total. For those not in the marquee the racecourse has a number of eating and drinking counters to choose one – we did try a cheeseburger and fries later which were very good.

After a full day of socialising, eating, drinking and betting, we all headed back to Coventry/Castle Bromwich at around 6.45 pm.

It was a long day but the time just seemed to fly by so fast!

Here’s to next year and hopefully some better weather and luck on the horses!!!!!
